The Sullivan County Democratic Party will hold a Reorganization Convention to elect new leadership on Saturday, March 29. The meeting will take place at the Northeast State Community College Baslar Library Building Room 106. Doors open for registration at 12 noon and the convention will start at 1:00 p.m.
During the Convention local Democrats will adopt County Party bylaws and elect new leadership. The voting delegation will elect officers including a Chair, Vice Chairs, Secretary, Treasurer, and Executive Committee members from all areas of the county to serve two-year terms. All Democrats who are residents of and registered voters in Sullivan County are eligible to be nominated, participate in the voting delegation, and discuss the party’s agenda and events for 2025-2026. Local Democrats are encouraged to attend the convention even if they are not interested in serving on the executive committee. Reorganization Conventions occur biennially in every county across the state of Tennessee.
Attendees should arrive early to complete registration and be admitted to the convention prior to 1 p.m. when the meeting will begin. Registration requires completion of a credentialing form and showing identification. For more information, contact Sullivan County Democratic Party at 423-398-1616.
